X-Men earn a close second place finish at AUS championship
The X-Men narrowly missed top spot at the AUS championship, coming in a close second to the UNB REDS
Wolfville, NS – The STFX X-Men narrowly missed top spot at the AUS championship, coming in a close second to the UNB REDS at the 2025 AUS championship meet at Hennigar's Farm Saturday afternoon.
The REDS runners placed 1-2-5-8-14 with 30 points to claim time spot, six points ahead o the X-Men who placed 3-4-6-10-13 in a tight race thoughout each lap of the 8km event.
UNB's Jared House was the overall race winner, finishing with a time of 24:50. He was followed by his teammate Silas Conlin-Morse in second at 24:58 who had a close race to the finish line with STFX's Brett King, who clocked in for the individual bronze medal at 24:59.
Luke MacDonald came fourth for the X-Men with a time of 25:07, while Liam Patterson was sixth at 25:16 and Liam McCullagh 10th at 25:31.
King, MacDonald and Patterson were all recognized as AUS first team all-stars with McCullagh earning AUS second team all-star status.
Mathew Lawton placed 13th overall for the X-Men with a 25:31 result. Griffen Gamble (25:42) was 15th and Conlan MacKenzie (27:07) was 25th amongst a total field of 47 competitors. MacKenzie was also honored as the 2025 AUS Student-Athlete Community Service award winner.
In the team standings, the REDS had 30 points in the first place finish, with STFX scoring 36 and the third place Dalhousie Tigers 72.
The U SPORTS Championship is scheduled for November 8th in Sherbrooke, QC.
