The U SPORTS No. 3 ranked StFX X-Men wrapped up AUS regular season play with a 5-0 loss to the UPEI Panthers Saturday night.
The U SPORTS No. 1 ranked StFX X-Men (22-2-4) bested the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (3-22-2) by a 5-2 score Saturday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre. The crowd of over 500 were treated to a very fast paced and physical 60 minutes of play.
The visiting Dalhousie Tigers (9-18-1) extended their winning streak to five games with a 7-3 upset over the U SPORTS No. 1 ranked StFX X-Men (21-2-4) Friday evening at the Charles V. Keating Centre. Seven different Tigers found the back of the X-Men net.
The U SPORTS No. 1 ranked StFX X-Men topped the visiting University of Prince Edward Island Panthers 5-2 in AUS play Friday night at the Keating Centre. The X-Men avenged a shootout loss to the Panthers last weekend in Charlottetown.
The Dalhousie Tigers were shutout by the U SPORTS ranked No. 4 StFX X-Men at the Halifax Forum Wednesday night. The Tigers got plenty of opportunities, but strong power play unit, and a stellar performance by their goaltender saw StFX take the win.
The UNB Varsity Reds secured their hold on first place in the Atlantic University Sport standings with a 5-3 win over the second place StFX X-Men on Friday night. The game was played at UNB’s sold out Aitken Centre.
The U SPORTS No. 7 ranked Acadia Axemen (7-2-1) won in a nail-biting 6-5 overtime game over the No. 3 ranked StFX X-Men (8-1-1) Friday night. The Axemen had built up a 5-1 lead and the X-Men almost pulled off the comeback.
In Saturday night AUS men’s hockey action, StFX capitalized on three power play opportunities, skating to a 5-1 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers at the Civic Arena.
