Bio
Lisa Fredrich-Dunne raced into the STFX record books as a trailblazer for X-Women Cross Country. A native of Calgary, she became the first X-Women runner ever named STFX Female Athlete of the Year in 1996, capping a remarkable career that saw her recognized as STFX Female Cross Country Runner of the Year four consecutive seasons from 1992 through 1995.
A five-time AUAA all-star, Fredrich-Dunne was the conference individual champion and runner of the year in 1994, qualifying for the national championships in both 1994 and 1995. Her excellence extended beyond the course - she was a two-time CIAU Academic All-Canadian, earned degrees in both Science (1995) and Physical Education (1996), and was STFX’s nominee for the prestigious James Bayer Award.
After graduation, she continued to test her endurance as a four-time Ironman Canada finisher and proudly represented Canada at the Long Course World Championships in Sweden. Now a dedicated teacher and chaplain in Calgary, this X-Women Cross Country pioneer and champion continues to inspire young people to reach their fullest potential.
