Moon and Wallace recipients of Bernie Chisholm Award
X-Women runners Feron Wallace and Poppy Moon announced as 2025-26 recipients of the Bernie Chisholm Award
STFX Cross Country/Track head coach Eric Gillis is pleased to announce the 2025-26 recipients of the Bernie Chisholm Award to Feron Wallace and Poppy Moon. Both Wallace and Moon were members of the U SPORTS silver medalist X-Women Cross Country team this past November in Sherbrooke, QC.
The Bernie Chisholm Award supports an undergraduate student athlete(s) on the cross country/track team who demonstrates high character, commitment to their team, good academic standing, and high athletic achievement. An endowment fund was created for the annual award through donors and supporters of retired STFX Cross Country/Track coach Bernie Chisholm, as well as supporters of the team.
Feron Wallace is a first year Human Nutrition student athlete from Kamloops BC, and she comments "I am very thankful to receive the Bernie Chisholm Award, as this will help allow me to work towards the goals of the Cross Country and Track team here at X alongside my teammates. Coming to the end of my first year here, I feel so lucky to have found a program full of such genuine care, commitment and passion. The team here truly is something special!"
Poppy Moon is a second year Science student from Bedford, NS who is also honoured to receive the Bernie Chisholm Award, noting that "This award will help me work towards future goals both athletically and academically as I continue my time at STFX. I am beyond proud to be a part of the STFX Cross Country/Track team, and I am excited to continue my journey with the team. I hope my contribution to the team has a positive impact on the future."
