StFX X-Men claim second place at Laval interlock meet
The X-Men cross country team raced to a second place finish on the Plains of Abraham Saturday in an interlock meet hosted by the Universite de Laval. Out of 12 teams, the X-Men tallied 57 points, behind the host Laval’s 30.
Quebec City – The X-Men cross country team raced to a second place finish on the Plains of Abraham Saturday in an interlock meet hosted by the Universite de Laval. Out of 12 teams, the X-Men tallied 57 points, behind the host Laval's 30.
McGill came in third place with 62 points, followed by Dalhousie in fourth at 102.
Rounding out the team results in the 8k race that featured 120 runners from AUS and RSEQ schools were Sherbrooke (159), Montreal (198), Trinity College (199), UQTR (239), UNB (275), UQAM (310), Moncton (317) and Concordia (325).
Dalhousie's Matt MacNeil claimed the individual title, finishing with a time of 24:58. Laval's Dany Racine was second at 25:23 and Francois Jarry from McGill was third at 25:31.
Alex Cyr was the top X-Men runner, placing sixth overall at 25:40. His teammate Scott Donald was close behind in seventh place with a time of 25:45.
Also competing for StFX were Calvin DeWolfe (11th, 25:59), Riley Johnston (15th, 26:17), Lee Wesselius (20th, 26:27), Angus Rawling (21st, 26:29), Nick Favero (36th, 27:03), Paul MacLellan (52nd, 27:52) and Edward MacDonald (57th, 28:03).
The X-Men runners will next return to action on October 17th when they travel to Moncton for the UdeM Invitational.
