X-Women volleyball open season with 2-1 record

The StFX X-Women volleyball team posted a 2-1 record to open the AUS volleyball regular season this weekend. The season-opening tournament took place Friday and Saturday at the Tower on the Saint Mary’s University campus in Halifax.
The blue and white wrapped up the three-match weekend with a 3-1 loss (16-25, 20-25, 25-15, 18-25) to the host Huskies Saturday evening.
The X-Women started Saturday on a winning note with a 3-1 victory (25-14, 30-28, 23-25, 25-15) over the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues.
Under first-year head coach Danny DaCosta, the X-Women opened the regular season Friday evening with a 3-1 win (25-13, 25-17, 15-25, 25-16) over the Acadia Axewomen.
The X-Women return to action Saturday, Nov. 5 when they host their season-opening match versus the Memorial SeaHawks, beginning at 7 p.m. at Oland Centre. The re-match will take place Sunday, Nov. 6 at noon.
