X-Women volleyball fall to Tigers in three close sets
The CIS ranked No. 9 Dalhousie Tigers swept the StFX X-Women in three close sets (25-21, 30-28 and 25-23) in AUS volleyball action Sunday afternoon in Halifax.
Hilary Sears led the winners with 28 assists and seven digs, while Louise Facca contributed eight kills and 11 digs.
Maggie Li, AUS Subway player of the game for the Tigers, added 12 kills, one assist and one dig.
For the X-Women, Katherine Ryan amassed 13 kills and 11 digs, while Catherine Thornton had seven kills and eight digs.
Antigonish products Heather Isenor (29 assists and seven digs) and Maria Dunphy (16 digs) added to the blue and white attack.
Freshman Braelin Rowe was the AUS Subway player of the game for the X-Women.
With the loss, the X-Women fall to 7-9 with 14 points on the AUS season. They remain in fourth place in the conference.
StFX wraps up the regular season Saturday, February 11 at 7 p.m. when they visit Wolfville to face the Acadia Axewomen (5-11).
The AUS Championship will take place Feb. 17-19 at the University of Moncton.
