X-Women Split Games on Weekend
X-Women split games on the road this weekend. Saturday the X-Women claimed victory over Acadia Axewomen 3-0 (28-26, 25-15, 25-16). X-Women were defeated by Saint Mary’s 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-20).
Saturday the X-Women won the first set 28-26, second set 25-15 and the third and final set 25-16 to take the match.
Catherine Thornton led the way in points with 13.5 and had 12 kills. Right behind her was Michaela Vorlova with 13 points and 11 kills. Katherine Ryan of the X-Women led defense with 10 digs. Vorlova and Heather Isenor had 9 and 8 digs. Nicole Davidson for Acadia led her team with 9 kills and 10 points.
Sunday the X-Women lost against Saint Mary’s in three sets. The first set was 25-17, second 25-18 and third 25-20.
X-Women’s Jessica Roberts had a total of 10 kills and 15 points. StFX’s Katherine Ryan had 10 kills, 10 points and 6 digs. Michaela Vorlova led the team defensively with 11 digs. Kerri Smit of Saint Marys collected 17 points, 2 digs and 14 kills.
X-Women next see action December 28 – December 31 at the Toronto Invitational.
