X-Women Defeat Acadia

The Acadia Axewomen came to StFX today and were defeated 3-1 by the Blue & White (26-24, 20-25, 25-15, 25-23).  Player of the Game Heather Isenor quarterbacked a solid offense compiling 48 assists, 3 aces and 7 digs.  Making her debut at the Libero position, Lauren Ellis solidified the team’s defense!  X’s middle blockers led the way offensively with Katherine Ryan scoring 16.5 points (13 kills, 2 aces, 1 block, 25 digs) and Rookie Jessica Roberts scoring 17 points (13 kills, 2 aces, 2 blocks).  Jessica Nichols had a solid performance chipping in with 12.5 points (9 kills, 3 aces).  Acadia was led by left-side attacker Shawna McFadyen who collected 11.5 points (7 kills, 2 aces, 2 blocks and 14 digs).

The win moves the X-Women to 7-6 and in a tie for 2nd place with the UNB Varsity Reds.  Next up for the Blue & White are the CBU Capers (2-9) who come to the Oland Centre Sunday at 2:00.
