X-Women Defeat CBU

The blue & white traveled to Sydney on Saturday to face an always tough opponent in the CBU Capers and came home with a hard fought 3-2 (25-19, 22-25, 25-23, 21-25, 16-14) victory.  Katherine Ryan (12 kills, 5 aces, 4 blocks, 20 digs) and Michaela Vorlova (19 kills, 4 aces, 13 digs, 1 block) led the way for the X-Women.  Jessica Roberts (11 kills, 1 ace, 2 blocks) was a solid contributor and Heather Isenor (48 assists) quarterbacked a solid offense.  Lauren Ellis was a huge spark for the Blue & White coming in during critical points in the match to make big digs and provide solid, aggressive serving!  The Capers were led by Middle Blocker Megan Brown (20 kills, 6 blocks) and Libero Kristen Ryan (25 digs).  The win improves the X-Women’s record to 5-5 and CBU drops to 2-8.
 
Next weekend StFX will travel to Newfoundland to face an always tough team in the Memorial Seahawks.
