Vball road hopes axed

Nov 26, 2007 - The X-Women volleyball team ended first term play with a road loss to the Acadia Awewomen Sunday afternoon in Wolfville. Acadia won the first game by a close 25-23 score and the X-Women came back to win the second game 25-21. Another close game ensued in the third contest with the Axewomen coming out on top 27-25. They held on for the 3-1 match win by defeating StFX 25-13 in the fourth game. Player of the Game Catherine Thornton had a strong match for X, recording 21 kills and 17 digs. Laura Machowski had 8 kills and 14 digs. For Acadia, Christie Estabrooks had 17 kills and 10 digs, Stacey Elliott had 11 kills and 14 digs and Player of the Game Georgia McNeil had 11 kills.\r\n\r\nThe X-Women hold a 2-5 record heading into the Christmas break and sit in sixth place overall in the AUS standings.
