X-Women Undefeated

CIS No. 3 ranked X-Women defeated UPEI Panthers a convincing 5-1 on Friday evening at home.

In the first period of play X-Women fired off thirteen shots on net and landed a power play goal past UPEI’s net minder Bailey Toupin. Alex Normore (8:31), assisted by Catie Gavin and Jenna Pitts, scored the lone goal of the period. X-Women held a tight defense not allowing one shot on their net.

Second period went in StFX’s favor. Sydnee Parker (3:07) scored a quick goal to take the lead 2-0. Carolyn Campbell with the assist. Shannon Crezel (7:40), assisted by Daniela Falconio, snuck a dribbler past the goal line. X-Women’s Janelle Parent fires one top shelf on the power play to take the lead 4-0. Jenna Downey and Jenna Pitts with the assist. The Panther’s Ferran Brown (10:39) responded with a power play goal.

Heading into the third period StFX was leading 4-1. X-Women’s Catie Gavin (12:55) took a backhanded shot to the blocker and scored StFX’s fifth and final goal of the game. Final score was 5-1 for StFX.

Final shots in the game were 37-10 in favor of the X-Women.  Katie Greenway picked up the win in nets, while Toupin was tagged with the loss for UPEI.
