OSHAWA, Ont. – The StFX X-Women defeated the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks 75-64 Wednesday night in pre-season exhibition action.

This year marks the inaugural season for the Ridgebacks as their program's first victory was within reach in their third pre-season game.

The X-Women earned their second consecutive victory in as many exhibition matches.

StFX held an 18-9 lead after the first quarter of play and were up 35-30.

After three quarters the Ridgebacks trailed by only three points, but a strong fourth quarter for the X-Women gave them some further separation and the 75-64 victory.

Bilan Khadar (Ottawa, ON) and Jolesha Allen-Brown (Oshawa, ON) led the Ontario Tech offence with 18 and 14 points respectively.

Alyssa Carin (Brampton, ON) had a solid game as well, going 6-for-6 from the free throw line with eight points and 10 rebounds.

StFX's Marley Bonnick (Brampton, ON) gave the Ridgebacks trouble all night as she was 4-for-5 from three and 8-for-9 from the free throw line, finishing with 30 points.

Aliyah Fraser (New Glasgow, NS) and Briar MacDonald (Antigonish, NS) were also key contributors for the X-Women with 11 and 10 points.

StFX will continue their Ontario trip with a game in Toronto Thursday evening against the U of T Varsity Blues. Tip-off is 8:00 pm EDT.
