Logan Rieck named AUS male athlete of the week

Cara Freeman from the Saint Mary's Huskies women's soccer team is the East Coast Lifestyle AUS Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 28, 2025.

A third-year forward from Halifax, N.S., Freeman managed a five-point weekend, scoring three goals and adding two assists in two weekend wins for the Huskies.

In Friday's 2-0 win over the UPEI Panthers, Freeman scored a goal and added an assist, recording a match-high four shots on goal and playing the full 90 minutes.

In Saturday's 6-0 win over the Mount Allison Mounties, Freeman scored two goals and added an assist, once again playing the full 90 minutes.

For the season, Freeman has now scored 10 goals and added four assists for 14 points in nine games played. She is tied for the U SPORTS lead in goals scored, and leads AUS in goals scored and total points.

Logan Rieck from the STFX X-Men soccer team has been named the East Coast Lifestyle AUS Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 28, 2025.

A fifth-year midfielder from Cambridge, Ont., Rieck was named Player of the Game in STFX's 4-1 win over the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus on Sunday.

He assisted on two X-Men goals, including setting up the game winner, and then scored STFX's fourth goal of the game for three points on the afternoon.

Rieck currently leads the AUS conference in scoring with eight points on the season—five goals and three assists.

Throughout the 2025-26 season, each East Coast Lifestyle AUS Athlete of the Week will receive a $50 ECL gift card and a signed certificate, courtesy of East Coast Lifestyle and Atlantic University Sport.
