Soccer X-Men score wins at Memorial

The StFX X-Men improved their playoff chances with a pair of weekend road wins over the Memorial SeaHawks.
Sunday, the blue and white exploded for six second-half goals in a 7-0 thumping of the home team.
Martin Vlk (49th and 72nd minute) and Ryan Casey (59th and 64th minute) scored two goals apiece for the X-Men.
For the second consecutive match, Randy Ribeiro (9th minute) found the back of the net for the blue and white in the early minutes.
Michael Hojdar (69th minute) and goalkeeper Sam Hutchinson (90th) added goals for the X-Men.
Andrew MacDonald made six saves for his second consecutive shutout. The X-Men outshot the SeaHawks 21-6.
Saturday, Ribeiro (6th minute) and Vlk, in the final minute of extra time, scored for the X-Men in a 2-0 win.
The blue and white outshot the SeaHawks 11-3. MacDonald made three saves for the shutout. The X-Men had seven corner kicks in the match.
Vlk was the blue and white player of the game.
The X-Men (5-3-3) return to action Friday when they travel to Sydney to face the Cape Breton University Capers. The blue and white will host the Acadia Axemen Saturday at Oland Stadium in their final regular season home game. Game time is 6:15 p.m.
