  • X-Men to face Gaels in U SPORTS quarterfinal Friday evening

    The StFX X-Men are seeded No. 6 heading into the U SPORTS national championship in Lethbridge, Alta. March 14-17. They will face the No. 3 seeded Queens Gaels on Friday evening at 7:00 pm PT in quarterfinal action.

    The StFX X-Men fell 4-1 to the UPEI Panthers Saturday night in the final regular season game of the AUS season. With the win the Panthers (15-12-3) captured fourth place and home ice advantage in the opening quarter-final round of the playoffs, upcoming next week.

    The StFX X-Men overcame the visiting Saint Mary’s Huskies by a 6-5 score line in a high scoring affair Saturday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre. With the win the X-Men kept the U SPORTS No. 4 ranked Huskies at bay from clinching an AUS first round bye.

    It appears the StFX X-Men may have found the secret to beating the U SPORTS No. 1 ranked UNB Reds – score early and score often. The X-Men defeated the Reds 3-2 on Saturday night in front of over 1300 fans at the Charles V. Keating Centre. All three goals came early in the first period.
  • X-Men deliver 5-1 victory over Panthers

    The StFX X-Men defeated the UPEI Panthers 5-1 Friday evening at the Charles V. Keating Centre. The game marked the second consecutive win over the same Panthers squad, and by the same 5-1 score as the X-Men also won in Charlottetown Tuesday evening.

    In AUS men's hockey action, after giving up a two goal lead, the Saint Mary’s Huskies (14-7-2) recovered and took the win over the StFX X-Men (11-8-2) by a 4-3 margin in overtime, Wednesday night at the Halifax Forum.

    The StFX X-Men handed the U SPORTS No. 1 ranked UNB Reds their first regulation loss of the 2018-19 season Saturday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre, playing to a 4-2 win.

    The StFX X-Men defeated UPEI Panthers by a 6-3 margin Friday evening at the Charles V Keating Centre. The crowd of over 400 people were treated to 60 minutes of physical hockey, with both teams taking advantage of their power play opportunities.
  • Late third period goal gives Tigers 1-0 edge over X-Men

    In Friday night AUS hockey action, the Dalhousie Tigers edged the StFX X-Men 1-0 at the Halifax Forum. It took 59 minutes for someone to find the back of the net as Tigers forward Campbell Pickard (Halifax, NS) scored the late third period goal to give them the 1-0 victory.
  • Applications now open for Junior X-Men spring development camps

    X-Men hockey head coach Brad Peddle is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Junior X-Men spring development camps. The six-week camps will be available from April 6 to May 26, 2019 for highly motivated athletes to prepare for advanced hockey programs in novice, atom, pee wee and bantam classifications.

  • Cook wraps up three-game series with U SPORTS all-stars

    StFX X-Men forward Holden Cook, a fourth year business student from Whitby, Ont. wrapped up a three-game stint with the U SPORTS all-star team in their series against the Canadian world junior prospects in Victoria, B.C. It marked the third consecutive year that Cook competed with the all-star squad. This year the U SPORTS all-stars won the series 2-1. X-Men alumnus Patrick Grandmaitre, the current head coach of the Ottawa Gee Gees was also a part of the all-star team as an assistant coach.

    In their final home game of the first half of the season, the Dalhousie Tigers played host to the StFX X-Men at the Halifax Forum on Wednesday. Special teams made all the difference in this one as the Tigers capitalized to take the 5-2 win.
  • Late third period goal lifts X-Men over Aigles Bleus

    Cole MacDonald (Wetaskiwin, AB) scored the game winning goal with just under three minutes to play as the StFX X-Men defeated the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus 5-3 Saturday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre. The crowd was treated to an entertaining 60 minutes of play, as the teams were tied after the first and second periods.
  • X-Men defeat Tigers by 4-1 margin

    The StFX X-Men defeated the visiting Dalhousie Tigers 4-1 at the Keating Centre on a snowy Friday evening. The crowd was treated to 60 minutes of fast-paced hockey, featuring a scoring blitz for the X-Men in the second period led by first star and Subway Player of the Game Adam Stevens (Bedford, NS) who scored a hat trick.
  • X-Men drop second game of weekend in 5-3 loss to Panthers

    The UPEI Panthers defeated the StFX X-Men by a 5-3 score on Saturday evening, handed them their second loss of the weekend.

    The U SPORTS No. 1 ranked UNB Reds defeated the No. 10 StFX X-Men by a 5-1 margin Friday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre, following up on another decisive win over the same StFX squad. The Reds won 8-1 last weekend in Fredericton.
