The StFX X-Men overcame the visiting Saint Mary’s Huskies by a 6-5 score line in a high scoring affair Saturday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre. With the win the X-Men kept the U SPORTS No. 4 ranked Huskies at bay from clinching an AUS first round bye.

It appears the StFX X-Men may have found the secret to beating the U SPORTS No. 1 ranked UNB Reds – score early and score often. The X-Men defeated the Reds 3-2 on Saturday night in front of over 1300 fans at the Charles V. Keating Centre. All three goals came early in the first period.

The StFX X-Men defeated the UPEI Panthers 5-1 Friday evening at the Charles V. Keating Centre. The game marked the second consecutive win over the same Panthers squad, and by the same 5-1 score as the X-Men also won in Charlottetown Tuesday evening.

In AUS men's hockey action, after giving up a two goal lead, the Saint Mary’s Huskies (14-7-2) recovered and took the win over the StFX X-Men (11-8-2) by a 4-3 margin in overtime, Wednesday night at the Halifax Forum.

The StFX X-Men defeated UPEI Panthers by a 6-3 margin Friday evening at the Charles V Keating Centre. The crowd of over 400 people were treated to 60 minutes of physical hockey, with both teams taking advantage of their power play opportunities.

Late third period goal gives Tigers 1-0 edge over X-Men

In Friday night AUS hockey action, the Dalhousie Tigers edged the StFX X-Men 1-0 at the Halifax Forum. It took 59 minutes for someone to find the back of the net as Tigers forward Campbell Pickard (Halifax, NS) scored the late third period goal to give them the 1-0 victory.

In their final home game of the first half of the season, the Dalhousie Tigers played host to the StFX X-Men at the Halifax Forum on Wednesday. Special teams made all the difference in this one as the Tigers capitalized to take the 5-2 win.

The StFX X-Men defeated the visiting Dalhousie Tigers 4-1 at the Keating Centre on a snowy Friday evening. The crowd was treated to 60 minutes of fast-paced hockey, featuring a scoring blitz for the X-Men in the second period led by first star and Subway Player of the Game Adam Stevens (Bedford, NS) who scored a hat trick.

The U SPORTS No. 1 ranked UNB Reds defeated the No. 10 StFX X-Men by a 5-1 margin Friday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre, following up on another decisive win over the same StFX squad. The Reds won 8-1 last weekend in Fredericton.

The StFX X-Men and Acadia Axemen needed a shootout to decide their Friday night game at the Charles V. Keating Centre and it was the home team X-Men who came out on top with the 4-3 win.

X-Men come from behind to defeat Moncton in shootout

The StFX X-Men overcame a two-goal third period deficit to defeat the Aigles Bleus de Moncton 5-4 in a shootout in an intense, prolonged game evening at the Charles V Keating Centre. A crowd of over 400 spectators were treated to a rousing 60 minutes of lightning fast regulation play, five minutes of 3-on-3 overtime, and the eventual shootout.

The StFX X-Men bested the visiting Dalhousie Tigers 2-1 Saturday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre to a crowd of over 600 spectators. The game featured the blue and white sporting pink accessories for the X-Men’s annual “Pink in the Rink” event supporting breast cancer research.
