It appears the StFX X-Men may have found the secret to beating the U SPORTS No. 1 ranked UNB Reds – score early and score often. The X-Men defeated the Reds 3-2 on Saturday night in front of over 1300 fans at the Charles V. Keating Centre. All three goals came early in the first period.

The StFX X-Men defeated UPEI Panthers by a 6-3 margin Friday evening at the Charles V Keating Centre. The crowd of over 400 people were treated to 60 minutes of physical hockey, with both teams taking advantage of their power play opportunities.

Cook wraps up three-game series with U SPORTS all-stars

StFX X-Men forward Holden Cook, a fourth year business student from Whitby, Ont. wrapped up a three-game stint with the U SPORTS all-star team in their series against the Canadian world junior prospects in Victoria, B.C. It marked the third consecutive year that Cook competed with the all-star squad. This year the U SPORTS all-stars won the series 2-1. X-Men alumnus Patrick Grandmaitre, the current head coach of the Ottawa Gee Gees was also a part of the all-star team as an assistant coach.

The StFX X-Men defeated the visiting Dalhousie Tigers 4-1 at the Keating Centre on a snowy Friday evening. The crowd was treated to 60 minutes of fast-paced hockey, featuring a scoring blitz for the X-Men in the second period led by first star and Subway Player of the Game Adam Stevens (Bedford, NS) who scored a hat trick.

In Wednesday night hockey action at the Halifax Forum, after a quiet two periods, a flurry of late goals saw the StFX X-Men (3-2-2) take a 5-3 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers (1-6-0).

X-Men top visiting Tigers 2-1

The StFX X-Men bested the visiting Dalhousie Tigers 2-1 Saturday night at the Charles V. Keating Centre to a crowd of over 600 spectators. The game featured the blue and white sporting pink accessories for the X-Men’s annual “Pink in the Rink” event supporting breast cancer research.
