X-Men Basketball forward David Muenkat selected 1st overall in CEBL U SPORTS draft

STFX X-Men third year forward David Muenkat was selected first overall in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) U SPORTS draft, as announced Tuesday evening. The 6’7”, 210 pound Arts student from Brampton, Ont. is the first ever X-Men to be drafted into the CEBL in what is the fourth year of the draft/league. He was chosen first overall in the opening round by the Scarborough Shooting Stars.

Please note that the UNB Reds at STFX basketball games originally scheduled for Friday, February 25th at 6:00 and 8:00 pm in Antigonish have been rescheduled due to COVID protocols. The games will now be played on Sunday, February 27th at 2:00 pm (women) and 4:00 pm (men).

The Memorial Sea-Hawks capped their weekend home stand at the Field House with a win on Saturday afternoon against the StFX X-Men, the final score being 105-88. The Sea-Hawks ended the weekend with two consecutive wins, bringing their season record to 6-4. the X-Men drop to 5-6.
