Six X-Men invited to CFL Combine events
STFX's Devaughn Blackwood, Chidera Oragui, Zach Houde, Malcolm Bussey, David McGill and Otito Nwaogu have been invited to various upcoming CFL Combine events.
Six STFX X-Men Football student-athletes have been selected to participate in the Canadian Football League (CFL) Combine events. Devaughn Blackwood and Chidera Oragui have been invited to the CFL Combine in Edmonton taking place March 27-29, while Zach Houde, Malcolm Bussey, David McGill and Otito Nwaogu have been invited to the CFL Invitational Combine in Waterloo, Ont. on March 6th. Devaughn Blackwood is a 6'3", 202-pound receiver from Kanata, Ont. who wrapped up his fourth year of eligibility with the X-Men. A 2025 AUS all-star, he was third overall in AUS receiving this season, averaging 65.0 yards/game. In eight games played, Devaughn had 39 receptions for 520 yards, averaging 4.9 yards per catch, and scored three touchdowns. The fifth year Bachelor of Arts student was also third overall in AUS all-purpose yards at 65.0 YPG.
Chidera Oragui is a 6.5", 310-pound offensive lineman from Halifax, N.S. The fourth year Bachelor of Science student started in all eight games for the X-Men for the 2025 season in the offensive tackle position, a key member of the offense over the past few seasons.
Zachary Houde is a 6'2", 200-pound receiver from Falardeau, Que. who was second overall in AUS receiving this season, averaging 65.4 yards/game in seven games played. He had 30 receptions for 458 total yards, averaging 4.3 yards per catch and scored a pair of touchdowns. His 65.4 yards/game were also second overall in AUS all-purpose yards and he garnered 2025 AUS all-star status in is fourth season of eligibility.
Malcolm Bussey is a 5'11", 197-pound running back from Hammonds Plains, N.S. who lead the AUS conference in rushing this season, averaging 85.4 yards/game. A fifth year Human Kinetics student in his fourth year of eligibility, Malcolm racked up 683 total yards on 119 carries, averaging 5.7 yards/rush. He scored nine touchdowns and also had a trio of receptions. A 2025 AUS all-star, he broke the STFX all-time career rushing yards record, currently sitting with 3268 career yards.
David McGill is a 6'3", 280-pound defensive lineman from Powassan, Ont. who started in all eight games for the X-Men and recorded 23.0 tackles on the season, including 14 solo tackles and 18 assisted. A 2025 AUS all-star, David is a 5th year Public Policy & Governance student who averaged 2.9 tackles/game and had 1.5 tackles for a loss of yards.
Otito Nwaogu is a 6'1", 232-pound defensive lineman from London, Ont. who had 22.5 tackles on the season for the X-Men, starting in all eight games. A Human Kinetics student who wrapped up his fourth year of eligibility, Otito had 17 solo and 11 assisted tackles while averaging 2.8 tackles/game. He also had one sack, one interception, and 2.5 tackles for a loss this season.
CFL reveals 2026 CFL Combine participants
TORONTO — Over 140 draft-eligible prospects are slated to showcase their skills for the league's general managers, coaches and player personnel in March during CFL Combine season.
Waterloo, Ont., will be home to the CFL Invitational Combine on March 6.
The top prospects identified at the event will advance to Edmonton for the CFL Combine presented by Anytime Fitness from March 27-29.

In addition to the attendees who advance through the Invitational Combine, the CFL Combine will feature the top prospects eligible for the 2026 CFL Draft, as well as the top global players hoping to be selected at the 2026 CFL Global Draft.
On Friday, March 27, participants will take part in the 40-yard dash, the 3-cone shuttle, the short shuttle, the broad and vertical jumps, and the bench press.
On Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, hopefuls will strap on the pads and take to the field for two days of practices looking to leave a lasting impression on general managers, coaches, and scouts in attendance ahead of the CFL Draft.
