Tabor, Omara & Ferguson named football athletes of the week

StFX X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men wide receiver Donald Tabor was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 28, 2014. Donald, a fourth year Business student (3rd year eligibility) from Dartmouth, NS, was the top receiver for the X-Men in their recent interlock loss to Montreal. He caught 5 passes for 88 yards, including a long reception of 51 yards in the opening quarter, for an average of 17.6 yards/catch. Donald is currently 8th overall in AUS receiving, averaging 40.8 yards per game. 

StFX X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men football linebacker Ron Omara was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 28, 2014. Ron, a fourth year Arts student from Alymer, Que. had nine tackles for the X-Men in their recent loss to Montreal, recording 5 solo and 8 assisted tackles, many of which were punishing hits. The 2013 AUS defensive player of the year currently has 27 total tackles on the season, good enough for 3rd overall in the AUS. 

StFX X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men defensive back Demetrius Ferguson was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 28, 2014. Demetrius, a fourth year Business student (5th year eligibility) from Nassau, Bahamas played well on special teams coverage in the X-Men's recent loss to Montreal. He had 8.5 tackles in the game including 8 solo tackles, and also had 2 punt returns for 26 yards and a kick-off return for 18 yards. He is currently 6th overall in AUS tackles with 21.
