Roseway, Adereti & Szela named football athletes of the week

X-Men wide receiver Randy Roseway was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 7, 2012. Randy, a second year Arts student from Ottawa, Ont., scored his first touchdown of the season on a 77 yard reception in the 4th quarter in the X-Men’s recent 41-14 loss to Acadia. He had 9 receptions in the game for 158 yards and also returned 3 kickoffs for 43 yards on special teams.

X-Men football defensive end Sanmi Adereti was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 7, 2012. Sanmi, a first year Arts student from Brampton, ON played a strong game for the X-Men in their recent loss to Acadia. He collected 3.5 tackles (2 solo and 3 assisted) and had one breakup, in addition to 2 sacks for a total loss of nine yards.

X-Men defensive back Bryce Szela was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 7, 2012. Bryce, a fourth year Business student from Burlington, Ont., helped lead the X-Men on special teams coverage units in their recent loss to Acadia. The veteran athlete played well on both coverage teams and while blocking on return teams.
