X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men running back Ashton Dickson was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23, 2011. Ashton, a first year Arts student from Ottawa, ON, scored the winning touchdown in double overtime in the X-Men’s 42-41 win over Mount A Saturday. Ashton scored a 7 yard run for the major, and also led all rushers in the game with 24 carries for 209 yards.
X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men football linebacker Brett Hubbeard was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23, 2011. Brett, a second year Arts student from Peterborough, ON, led all tacklers in the game with 9 solo tackles in the X-Men’s 42-41 win over Mount A on Saturday. He also had one tackle for a loss of 2 yards and recorded a break-up in the game. Brett currently leads the X-Men in tackling this season.
X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men returner Jordan Catterall was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23, 2011. Jordan, a second year Arts student from Oakville, ON, returned a missed field goal for a 119 yard touch- down run in the X-Men’s 42-41 2OT win over Mount A on Saturday, tying for the 2nd ever longest missed field goal return in X-Men history. Jordan returned 5 total punts for 160 yards and also 2 kick-offs for 17 yards in the game. He also had an offensive touchdown and 5 receptions.
