Catterall, Langma & Alix receive Football Player of the Week awards

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men wide receiver Jordan Catterall was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 16, 2011. Jordan, a second year Arts student from Oakville, ON, received the same honor last week. In the X-Men’s recent 37-18 loss to Saint Mary’s, Jordan had 3 receptions for 68 yards, and also had 2 punt returns and 1 kickoff return on special teams.

X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men football defensive lineman Jonathan Langma was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 16, 2011. Jonathan, a third year Arts student from Mississauga, ON, recorded 2 sacks for a total loss of 8 yards in the X-Men’s recent loss to Saint Mary’s. He also had 4 solo and 2 assisted tackles in the game and was in on 4 tackles for a loss of 10 yards.

X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men kicker Anthony Alix was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 16, 2011. Anthony, a third year Arts student from Mont-Tremblant, QC received the same honor last week. In the X-Men’s recent loss to Saint Mary’s, Anthony had 15 punts for 556 total yards, along with 3 kickoffs for 236 yards. He also accounted for two rouges in the game.
