Catterall, Marshall & Alix named X-Men football athletes of the week

X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men wide receiver Jordan Catterall was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 9, 2011. Jordan, a second year Arts student from Oakville, ON, scored the X-Men’s only major in their recent 40-16 loss to Saint Mary’s. He scored a 56 yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter, and also led all X-Men receivers with 6 receptions for 118 total yards.

X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men football defensive lineman Devon Marshall was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 9, 2011. Devon, a first year Arts student from Sackville, NS, played well on the defensive line in the X-Men’s recent loss to Saint Mary’s. Devon recorded a sack for a loss of 8 yards and also was in on 3 tackles for a combined loss of 9 yards. He had 6 total tackles in the game for the X-Men.

X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men kicker Anthony Alix was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 9, 2011. Anthony, a third year Arts student from Mont-Tremblant, QC, scored 9 points in the X-Men’s recent 40-16 loss to Saint Mary’s as he booted 3 field goals (29, 34 and 36 yards). Anthony also had 10 punts in the game for 339 total yards and 1 kickoff for 33 yards.
