Williams, Omara & Rajotte are X-Men football athletes of the week

X-Men wide receiver Damone Williams was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 2, 2011. Damone, a first year Arts student from Mississauga, ON, led all X-Men receivers with 6 receptions for 69 yards in StFX’s 24-17 win over Mount Allison. Damone also had 3 rushes for 13 yards, 2 punt returns and 2 kick returns for 110 yards.

X-Men football linebacker Ron Omara was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 2, 2011. Ron, a first year Arts student from Aylmer, QC, was the Player of the Game in the X-Men’s 24-17 win over Mount Allison. He had 7 solo and 1 assisted tackle in the game, including a tackle for a loss of 1 yard. He also had an interception in the second quarter which he returned for 16 yards.

X-Men defensive back Hugo Rajotte was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 2, 2011. Hugo, a second year Arts student from Markham, ON, played a strong game on special teams coverage in the X-Men’s 24-17 win over Mount Allison. He tackled and covered well on kicks and also recovered a fumble in the game.
