Bennett, Annan & Elliott named football athletes of the week

X-Men quarterback Jahmari Bennett was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 25, 2011. Jahmari, a second year Arts student from Mississauga, ON, threw one touchdown pass in the X-Men’s 33-14 loss to Acadia on Saturday. He was 15 for 22 in pass completions for 119 total yards and also had 6 rushes in the game for 27 yards.

X-Men football defensive lineman Nate Annan was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 25, 2011. Nate, a third year Business student from St. Thomas, ON, played a strong game defensively for the X-Men in their recent 33-14 loss to Acadia. Nate was one of the top StFX tacklers in the game, recording 7 solo and 2 assisted tackles.

X-Men defensive back Charlton Elliott was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 25, 2011. Charlton, a second year Arts student from Pickering, ON, played well for the X-Men in their 33-14 loss to Acadia this past Saturday. Charlton recovered an Acadia fumble after a punt return for 14 yards and also had several key special teams tackles in the game.
