Walsh, Muamba & Alix latest football Athletes of the Week
X-Men offensive lineman Stewart Walsh was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 17, 2010. Stu, a fourth year Arts student from Antigonish, NS, continued to play consistently on the X-Men o-line in their recent disappointing 41-6 loss to Saint Mary’s. Stu is a veteran on the StFX offensive line and continues to be a leading blocker and consistent contributor in that position.
X-Men football linebacker Henoc Muamba was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 17, 2010. Henoc, a fourth year Information Systems student from Mississauga, ON, led the X-Men defense in tackles with 9.5 in their recent 41-6 loss to Saint Mary’s. In doing so he also broke the all-time StFX career tackling record and currently has 136.5 career tackles over the past 4 years.
X-Men kicker Anthony Alix was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 17, 2010. Anthony, a second year Arts student from Mont-Tremblant, QC, had 10 punts for 316 total yards in the X-Men’s recent disappointing 41-6 loss to Saint Mary’s on Friday night. He also had 2 kickoffs for 123 yards in the game. Anthony is currently averaging 31.5 yards per punt this season.
