Catterall, Hartmann & Hollohan receive Football Player of the Week honors
X-Men wide receiver Jordan Catterall was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 19, 2010. Jordan, a first year Business student from Oakville, ON, led all StFX receivers Saturday afternoon in the X-Men’s 27-10 loss to Montreal. He had 4 catches for 42 total yards. Jordan also had 3 kickoff returns for 63 yards while playing on special teams. Jordan joined the X-Men starting lineup this season as a graduate of Holy Trinity High School.
X-Men football defensive back Raye Hartmann was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 19, 2010. Raye, a first year Arts student from Mississauga, ON had two key interceptions for the X-Men defense this past Saturday in their 27-10 loss to Montreal. The two turnovers were the only interceptions in the game for either team. Raye also recorded 2 tackles in the afternoon for the X-Men. Raye has played well for StFX in two outings so far this season and come to the X-Men by way of Vanier College.
X-Men defensive back Dylan Hollohan was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 19, 2010. Dylan, a third year Engineering student from Moncton, NB scored had the highlight of the game for the X-Men in their recent 27-10 loss to Montreal, scoring a 119 yard touchdown on a missed field goal return. The play was the 2nd ever longest missed FG return in X-Men history and put the X-Men back in the game late in the 4th quarter. Dylan also had 1 more punt return (no yards) in the game, along with leading the teams in tackles with 10 (5 solo and 5 assisted).
