Axemen, X-Men battle again

\r\nSep 19, 2008 - At Oland Stadium on Saturday afternoon, it will be a clash of two teams in need of some positives.
\r\nAcadia got taken apart at home last weekend 47-1 against CIS No. 1 Laval. With the Huskies paying a visit to Wolfville in Week 4, the Axemen can ill afford another misstep.
\r\n"I wish there was something I could say that we did well, but we didn’t," said Acadia head coach Jeff Cummins. "You can’t play poorly against a great football team and if you do you get embarrassed like we did."
\r\nThe only bright spot for the scuffling Axemen, losers of six in a row since last fall, is the return of No. 1 tailback Cale Inglis to the offence after missing two games with a leg injury.
\r\nBut the defence, already minus all-Canadian free safety Elliott Richardson (torn triceps), will be missing back-up free safety Mike Rostance (concussion), cornerback/returner Najja Coley (ankle), linebacker Andrew Oake (ankle), middle linebacker Mike Leahy (back) and defensive lineman Joe Nwabuzor (disciplinary).
\r\nStFX., which beat the Axemen three times last season, allowed 10 turnovers in a 33-9 loss at Montreal. Quarterback Steve Snyder threw five interceptions and the X-Men fumbled six times, losing five, against one of the nation’s top defences.
