X-Men, Mounties to battle in Sackville

\r\nSep 27, 2008 - The Mounties have yet to win for interim head coach Kelly Jeffrey despite having a lead in the second half in all three games.
\r\n"Our kids are feeling this is a big week for us," said Jeffrey. "We’ve been right there."
\r\nAfter getting torched on the ground in the second half against the Huskies, Mount A will now need to corral Halifax’s James Green, whose 26-yard scamper in overtime proved to be the difference against the Axemen. Green had 169 yards in the game.
\r\nTwo of the conference’s best returners — StFX’s Mark Metulynsky and Mount A’s Gary Ross — will face off. Metulynsky, coming off a hamstring strain, had 175 all-purpose yards last week before cramping up late.
\r\nSteve Snyder will quarterback the X-Men after a sub-par game last week. X-Men head coach John Bloomfield said Snyder could not fairly be held accountable for all the shortcomings in the pass offence.
\r\nThe Mounties have given the X-Men trouble in recent times and Bloomfield knows it.
\r\n"They’ve played 12 quarters of football and they’ve been really good in 10 of them," Bloomfield said. "The second half last week against SMU they had their difficulties, but I think they are playing as well or better than I’ve ever seen them."
