Amelia Carlini of the Cape Breton Capers women's soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 16, 2018.
A second-year midfielder from Ottawa, Carlini opened the scoring in Cape Breton's 2-1 win over StFX Friday evening. She had three shots in the game.
She followed that up with a two-goal performance in the Capers' 3-0 victory over the UPEI Panthers Sunday afternoon in Charlottetown, P.E.I. She was named Subway Player of the Game for her efforts.

Year of eligibility: Fourth
Academic program: BEd
Alex Neuffer of the StFX X-Men cross country team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 16, 2018.
A BEd student in his fourth year of eligibility from Stratford, P.E.I., Neuffer helped lead the X-Men to a first-place team showing at the first meet of the AUS season at the UPEI Invitational in Charlottetown in his home province on Saturday.
He was also the top individual finisher, clocking in at 20:12:00 in the 6km race that featured 57 competitors.
Throughout the 2018-19 season, each Subway Atlantic University Sport Athlete of the Week will receive a $50 Subway gift card and a signed certificate courtesy of Subway and Atlantic University Sport.
