Matt Skinn

Head Coach

Matt Skinn has been the head assistant coach of the University of Calgary Dinos men’s basketball team for the past four years. In his years with the Dinos, the team has qualified for the Canada West playoffs each year and this past season was ranked as high as second in the county. Matt has also been the general manager and head coach of the Junior Dinos Basketball Club in Alberta for the past four years, establishing a 78-2 record in under-17 competition. He has experience coaching Basketball Alberta juvenile and midget teams and has won gold and silver medals at the national championships. Matt has coached at the Canada Basketball Centre for Performance Alberta, several summer basketball camps, and he is a fully certified Level 3 coach.

As a player, he was an academic all-Canadian at Cape Breton University, playing five years at the Nova Scotia school and earning both a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 2004. His studies brought him to the University of Calgary to complete a Masters of Science degree in sports psychology while assisting full time with the Dino Men.
