Membership Information

St. Francis Xavier University is a primarily undergraduate, residential university, located in beautiful Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The University also has close ties with the surrounding community. In support of the mission of St. Francis Xavier University, Recreational Services offers the University and the wider community recreational and educational opportunities that teach the values of wellness of mind, body and spirit. Recreational Services enhances the collegiate experience, fosters personal and professional development, and provides opportunities for cultural and social interaction.

In order to use StFX's Recreation facilities and many of our services, you must be a member. Memberships are free to most StFX students (currently enrolled full-time undergraduate students), and are available to StFX staff, faculty, alumni, and the general public for a fee. Those interested in participating in instructional programs can do so without being a Recreational Services member, but will be subject to a non-member registration fee.

Memberships may be purchased seven days a week through Membership Services at the Welcome Desk (Alumni Aquatic Centre) or by phone at 902-867-2181 (with credit card information). For your convenience, we accept the following payment options: cash, cheque (payable to StFX), MasterCard, Visa, or Direct Debit.

StFX Students: Your Student I.D. card is also your Recreational Services membership card and gives you access to all the recreational facilities. Please bring your card with you on every visit; it's just a matter of handing your card to Membership Services.  Please click here for more details on how to activate your student card.

Lost Your Card?
• A replacement fee will be charged to produce a new membership card.
• StFX Students who have lost or damaged their I.D. card must have it replaced at the Residence Office.
